In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl space areas and not basements. Closing the area will also prevent rodents and animals from settling in your crawl space which will help keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is closed off, if necessary we can install a system of sagging floor jacks to stabilize sloping floors above the crawl space.
