Crawl Space Solutions

In the greater Virginia Beach area, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces instead of basements. For many years, these were created with open vents to the outside where were intended to help fresh air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to get in during rain and snow storms and the vents hinder airflow which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually foster the growth of mildew. Up to half of the air in your home has come up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the weather and keeping the humidity levels low can improve the overall air quality in your home.
Our team has been encapsulating crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the best way to close them off and control high humidity. We do this using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are strong plastic and vinyl sheets as well as vent covers and a sturdy door that can seal the area completely and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop critters and animals from moving in your crawl space which will keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After your crawl space is encapsulated, if you need it we can install a system of sagging floor jacks to stabilize sagging floors in your home.
Structural Foundation Repair

The homes foundation is easily one of the most important areas of the home. It not only holds the building itself but it also forms the basement walls. When there are foundation problems, normally they will manifest themselves in the form of stair stepping cracks in your outside brickwork, cracks that run along the foundation or along basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that your windows and doors will not open or close easily or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem problematic at first, each of them are indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and it is important to have an expert evaluate the foundation for problems and determine what type of a repair needs to be installed.
It is good that many foundation problems have very similar causes and our team is very good at noticing those issues. We can implement a repair product intended for your particular problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If there is a sinking foundation, we can install a system of foundation piers to level the foundation. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both types of piers are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
