Crawl Space Solutions

In the greater Virginia Beach area, there are many homes that were built with crawl space areas and not basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, these were built with open vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and the vents prevent proper evaporation which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually foster the growth of mildew. Up to ½ of the air in your home comes up through the crawl space so ensuring the crawl space is closed off from the outside and controlling excess humidity will increase the overall air quality in your home.
Our team has been working with crawl spaces as long as we have been in business and we know the most efficient way to seal them off and control excess humidity. This is done using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, which are strong plastic and vinyl sheets as well as vent covers and a heavy duty door that will close off the area totally and stop any excess moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop rodents and animals from settling in the crawl space which will keep any equipment there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is closed off, if you need it we will install a system of floor jacks to repair sinking floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair

The homes foundation is easily one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only holds the structure itself but it also is the basement walls. If you have any foundation problems, usually, they will present themselves as stair stepping cracks in the brickwork, cracks that run along the foundation or across basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the doors will not open or close easily or there may be cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these issues seem critical at first, they are all indicators of a sinking or settling foundation which should be looked at by a professional for specific problems and determine what type of a repair needs to be installed.
It is good that many foundation problems stem from similar issues and our professionals are very good at spotting those issues. We can offer a repair product that is for your specific issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If you've got a uneven foundation, we will install a system of foundation piers to correct the problem. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
