Crawl Space Solutions

In Rescue, many of the homes were built with crawl space areas in addition to basements. For many years, these were created with vents to the outside where were intended to help fresh air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and the vents hinder airflow which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. Up to half of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so ensuring the crawl space is protected from the outside and keeping the humidity levels low will improve the overall air quality in your home.
JB Design has been dealing with crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the best way to seal them off and control the humidity. This is done using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, which are strong plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that will close off the area totally and stop any excess moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also stop pests and animals from settling in your crawl space which will keep any equipment there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is closed off, if necessary we will install a series of floor jacks to stabilize sagging floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair

Your foundation is quite possibly one of the most important parts. It not only supports the building itself but it also forms the basement walls. When you've got foundation problems, usually, they will present themselves in the form of diagonal cracks in the brickwork, cracks that run along the foundation or along basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the doors will not open or close easily or even cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem problematic at first, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation which should be looked at by a professional for problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be performed.
Thankfully, many foundation problems stem from similar issues and our team is very good at noticing these problems. We can offer a repair solution intended for your specific issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If you've got a settling foundation, we will install a series of foundation piers to stabilize the foundation. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both types of piers are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
