Crawl Space Solutions
In Rescue, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces instead of basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, they were built with vents to the outside where were intended to help fresh air flow through the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to get in when it rains or snows and then it never leaves which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually harbor the growth of mildew. Up to 50% of the air in your home comes up through the crawl space so ensuring the crawl space is protected from the outside and controlling excess humidity will increase the overall air quality in your home.
We have been encapsulating crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the most efficient way to close them off and control excess humidity. We do this using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, which are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheets as well as vent covers and a heavy duty door that will seal the area totally and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. This will also stop bugs and animals from settling in your crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once your crawl space is closed off, if you need it we will install a series of sagging floor jacks to stabilize sinking floors in your home.
Structural Foundation Repair
Your foundation is easily one of the most important parts. It not only holds the home itself but it also forms the basement walls. If you've got foundation problems, they will generally manifest themselves as stair-step cracks in your outside brickwork, long cracks that run along the foundation or across basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that your doors will get stuck or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem serious when you notice them, they are all indicative of a sinking or settling foundation which should be looked at by a professional for problems to determine if a repair needs to be in place.
It is good that the most common foundation problems have very similar causes and our experts are very good at evaluating these problems. We can implement a repair solution intended for your exact problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If you've got a uneven foundation, we will install a series of foundation piers to correct the problem. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both are very strong and are able to stabilize your foundation.
