Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rescue

In Rescue, there are many homes that are built with crawl space areas instead of basements. For a long time, these were constructed with vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to get in during rain and snow storms and the vents hinder airflow which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. We have found that up to ½ of the air in your home enters through the crawl space so ensuring this area is protected from the weather and controlling excess humidity will improve the overall air quality in your home.

We have been helping customers with their crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the proper way to seal them off and control high humidity. This is done using a method called encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, and are sturdy plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that will close off the area completely and prevent any excess moisture from entering. Closing the area will also prevent pests and animals from getting in the crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is closed off, if you need it we will install a system of sagging floor jacks to level sagging floors above the crawl space.

Structural Foundation Repair

Foundation Settlement Repair Rescue

Your foundation is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important areas of the home. It not only holds the structure itself but it also is the basement walls. If you've got foundation problems, they will generally present themselves as diagonal cracks in the brickwork, long cracks that run along the foundation or across the basement walls. You may also notice that the doors and windows will stick when you open or close them or even cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem problematic when you notice them, they are all indicative of a sinking or settling foundation which should be looked at by a professional for problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be installed.

It is good that the most common foundation problems stem from similar issues and our experts are very good at noticing these issues. We can implement a repair product intended for your specific problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If the problem is a settling foundation, we will install a system of foundation piers to stabilize the foundation. The location and amount of sinking will determine if we use helical or push piers. Both types of piers are very strong and are able to stabilize your foundation.
