Crawl Space Solutions

In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces instead of basements. For many years, they were built with open vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow through the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and then it never leaves which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. Up to 50% of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the outside and controlling excess humidity will improve the overall air quality in your home.

This is done using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are thick plastic and vinyl sheets as well as vent covers and a heavy duty door that will close off the area completely and prevent any unwanted moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also prevent bugs and animals from moving in the crawl space which will help keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is encapsulated, if necessary we will install a system of sagging floor jacks to repair sinking floors in your home.

Structural Foundation Repair

Your foundation is easily one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only holds the building itself but it also is the basement walls. When there are foundation problems, normally they will present themselves as stair-step cracks in the outside brickwork, cracks that run along the foundation or along the basement walls. You may also notice that the doors and windows will get stuck or even cracks at the corners of them.
