Crawl Space Solutions
In Rescue, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces and not basements. For many years, these were built with open vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow through the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to get in during rain and snow storms and then it never leaves which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually foster the growth of mildew. We have found that up to ½ of the air in your home has come up through the crawl space so ensuring this area is closed off from the elements and controlling excess humidity will increase the overall air quality in your home.
JB Design has been helping customers with their crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the proper way to close them off and control high humidity. This is done using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are thick plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that will close off the area completely and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop critters and animals from moving in the crawl space which will help keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once your crawl space is encapsulated, if necessary we will install a series of floor jacks to level sinking floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair
