Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rescue

In Rescue, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces in addition to basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, these were built with open vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to get in when it rains or snows and then it never leaves which results in the humidity level staying too high which can harbor the growth of mildew. We have found that up to ½ of the air in your home comes up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the weather and keeping the humidity levels low can improve the overall air quality in your home.

We have been working on crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the most efficient way to seal them off and control high humidity. We do this using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, which are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that can seal the area totally and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also stop critters and animals from moving in the crawl space which will help keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is closed off, if you need it we can install a system of floor jacks to lift sagging floors in your home.

Structural Foundation Repair

Foundation Settlement Repair Rescue

Your foundation is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important areas of the home. It not only supports the building itself but it also forms the basement walls. If you have any foundation problems, normally they will present themselves in the form of stair stepping cracks in the brickwork, cracks that run along the foundation or along the basement walls. You may also notice that the doors and windows will not open or close easily or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem critical at first, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and it is important to have an expert evaluate the foundation for particular problems and determine if a repair needs to be in place.

Thankfully, the most common foundation problems have very similar causes and our team is very good at tracking down these issues. We can utilize a repair product designed for your particular issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If there is a sinking foundation, we can install a system of foundation piers to stabilize the foundation. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both types of piers are very strong and are able to stabilize your foundation.
