Sagging Floors in Rescue

In the greater Virginia Beach area, many of the homes were built with crawl space areas in addition to basements. For many years, they were created with vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. Having open vents allows water to enter the space when it rains or snows and then it never leaves which results in the humidity level staying too high which can foster the growth of mildew. Up to half of the air in your home enters through the crawl space so having the space closed off from the weather and keeping the humidity levels low will improve the overall air quality in your home.

We have been working on crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the most efficient way to close them off and control excess humidity. This is done using a method called encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are sturdy plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as vent covers and a sturdy door that will close off the area completely and prevent any excess moisture from entering. Closing the area will also prevent pests and animals from getting in your crawl space which will help keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After your crawl space is closed off, if necessary we will install a series of sagging floor jacks to stabilize sinking floors in your home.

Structural Foundation Repair

Foundation Settlement Repair Rescue

Your foundation is easily one of, if not the, most important areas of the home. It not only holds the building itself but it also is the basement walls. If you've got foundation problems, they will generally present themselves as diagonal cracks in your outside brickwork, cracks that run along the foundation or along the basement walls. You may also notice that your windows and doors will get stuck or even cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these issues seem problematic when you notice them, they are all indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for specific problems to determine if a repair needs to be installed.

It is good that many foundation problems have very similar causes and our professionals are very good at tracking down these issues. We can offer a repair solution intended for your particular problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If you have a sinking foundation, we will implement a series of foundation piers to correct the problem. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both types are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
