Crawl Space Solutions
In the greater Virginia Beach area, many of the homes were built with crawl space areas instead of basements. For a long time, these were built with vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow through the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. We do this using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, and are thick plastic and vinyl sheets as well as vent covers and a heavy duty door that will seal the area totally and stop any excess moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop critters and animals from moving in the crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is encapsulated, if necessary we will install a series of sagging floor jacks to lift sloping floors above the crawl space.
