Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Jacks in Rescue

In our area, many of the homes are built with crawl space areas instead of basements. For a long time, they were built with vents to the outside where were intended to help fresh air flow through the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to get in when it rains or snows and the vents prevent proper evaporation which causes the humidity levels to stay high which can harbor the growth of mildew. We have found that up to ½ of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the elements and keeping the humidity levels low will increase the overall air quality in your home.

Our team has been working with crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the most efficient way to seal them off and control excess humidity. We do this using a process called encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are sturdy plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that will close off the area completely and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop rodents and animals from settling in the crawl space which will help keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is encapsulated, if necessary we will install a system of sagging floor jacks to level sagging floors above the crawl space.

Structural Foundation Repair

Stair Step Crack Repair in Rescue

The foundation of your home is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only holds the building itself but it also forms the basement walls. If there are foundation problems, they will generally present themselves as diagonal cracks in the brickwork, long cracks that run the length of the foundation or across the basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the doors and windows will get stuck or there may be cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these issues seem critical at first, they are all indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for particular problems and determine if a repair needs to be in place.

Thankfully, the most common foundation problems have very similar causes and our team is very good at noticing these issues. We can utilize a repair product intended for your exact problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If the problem is a uneven foundation, we will install a system of foundation piers to stabilize the foundation. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both are very strong and can stabilize your foundation.
