Crawl Space Solutions

Sagging Floors in Rescue

In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces in addition to basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, these were created with vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. Having open vents allows water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and the vents hinder airflow which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually foster the growth of mildew. We have found that up to ½ of the air in your home has come up through the crawl space so ensuring this area is closed off from the weather and keeping the humidity levels low will increase the overall air quality in your home.

We have been working with crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the proper way to seal them off and control excess humidity. We do this using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are strong plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that will seal the area totally and stop any excess moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also stop rodents and animals from getting in the crawl space which will help keep any equipment there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After your crawl space is closed off, if necessary we will install a system of sagging floor jacks to level sloping floors in your home.

Structural Foundation Repair

Foundation Settlement Repair Rescue

The homes foundation is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only supports the building itself but it also is the basement walls. When you have any foundation problems, normally they will manifest themselves as diagonal cracks in your brickwork, long cracks that run along the foundation or along basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that your windows and doors will get stuck or there may be cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these issues seem critical at first, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for problems to determine if a repair needs to be installed.

Thankfully, many foundation problems have very similar causes and our professionals are very good at spotting these issues. We can utilize a repair product designed for your specific problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If you've got a sloping foundation, we will implement a system of foundation piers to stabilize the foundation. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both types of piers are very strong and are able to stabilize your foundation.
