Crawl Space Solutions

Sagging Floors in Rescue

In our area, there are many homes that were built with crawl spaces instead of basements. For many years, they were constructed with vents which was intended to increase air flow through the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space when it rains or snows and then it never leaves which results in the humidity level staying too high which can facilitate the growth of mildew. Studies have shown that up to half of the air in your home has come up through the crawl space so ensuring this area is protected from the outside and keeping the humidity levels low will increase the overall air quality in your home.

Our team has been working with crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the best way to seal them off and control the humidity. This is done using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as vent covers and a sturdy door that will close off the area totally and stop any excess moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also stop bugs and animals from settling in the crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is encapsulated, if necessary we will install a series of sagging floor jacks to lift sloping floors in your home.

Structural Foundation Repair

Foundation Settlement Repair Rescue

The homes foundation is easily one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only supports the structure itself but it also is the basement walls. If you've got foundation problems, normally they will manifest themselves in the form of diagonal cracks in the outside brickwork, long cracks that run the length of the foundation or along the basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the doors and windows will get stuck or even cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem problematic when you notice them, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for particular problems to determine if a repair needs to be in place.

Thankfully, many foundation problems have very similar causes and our team is very good at evaluating those problems. We can implement a repair product that is for your particular issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If you've got a sloping foundation, we will implement a series of foundation piers to level the foundation. The location and amount of sinking will determine if we use helical or push piers. Both types are very strong and can stabilize your foundation.
