Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rescue

In our area, many of the homes are built with crawl space areas and not basements. For many years, these were created with open vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow through the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space when it rains or snows and the vents prevent proper evaporation which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. Studies have shown that up to half of the air in your home comes up through the crawl space so having the space closed off from the weather and keeping the humidity levels low will improve the overall air quality in your home.

Our team has been working on crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the proper way to close them off and control the humidity. This is done using a method called encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as vent covers and a heavy duty door that will seal the area totally and prevent any excess moisture from entering. This will also prevent bugs and animals from getting in your crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is protected, if you need it we will install a series of sagging floor jacks to stabilize sinking floors in your home.

Structural Foundation Repair

Stair Step Crack Repair in Rescue

Your homes foundation is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only holds the home itself but it also forms the basement walls. When you have any foundation problems, normally they will manifest themselves in the form of stair stepping cracks in the brickwork, long cracks that run the length of the foundation or across basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the windows will stick when you open or close them or even cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these problems seem serious at first, they are all indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and it is important to have an expert evaluate the foundation for problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be performed.

It is good that the most common foundation problems have very similar causes and our team is very good at tracking down those issues. We can implement a repair solution designed for your particular problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If there is a sinking foundation, we will install a series of foundation piers to correct the problem. The location and amount of sinking will determine if we use helical or push piers. Both types of piers are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
