Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rescue

In our area, there are many homes that were built with crawl space areas instead of basements. For many years, these were constructed with vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and the vents prevent proper evaporation which causes the humidity levels to stay high which can harbor the growth of mildew. Up to ½ of the air in your home enters through the crawl space so having the space closed off from the outside and keeping the humidity levels low will improve the overall air quality in your home.

JB Design has been dealing with crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the most efficient way to close them off and control high humidity. We do this using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are thick plastic and vinyl sheets as well as vent covers and a sturdy door that will seal the area completely and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop pests and animals from settling in the crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is closed off, if you need it we will install a series of floor jacks to lift sagging floors above the crawl space.

Structural Foundation Repair

Stair Step Crack Repair in Rescue

Your foundation is quite possibly one of the most important areas of the home. It not only supports the home itself but it also forms the basement walls. When you've got foundation problems, usually, they will manifest themselves in the form of stair stepping cracks in the outside brickwork, cracks that run the length of the foundation or along basement walls. You may also notice that the doors will get stuck or there may be cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these problems seem critical when you notice them, each of them are indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and it is important to have an expert evaluate the foundation for particular problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be performed.

Thankfully, many foundation problems stem from similar issues and our team is very good at noticing those issues. We can implement a repair product intended for your specific issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If you've got a sinking foundation, we will implement a series of foundation piers to level the foundation. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both types of piers are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
