Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rescue

In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl space areas instead of basements. For a long time, they were built with vents which was intended to increase fresh air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. Having open vents allows water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and the vents prevent proper evaporation which causes the humidity levels to stay high which can harbor the growth of mildew. We have found that up to half of the air in your home enters through the crawl space so having the space protected from the elements and controlling excess humidity will improve the overall air quality in your home.

We have been working with crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the proper way to close them off and control excess humidity. This is done using a process called encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, and are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that will seal the area completely and stop any excess moisture from entering. This will also stop pests and animals from getting in your crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is closed off, if you need it we will install a series of sagging floor jacks to level sloping floors in your home.

Structural Foundation Repair

Stair Step Crack Repair in Rescue

The homes foundation is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important areas of the home. It not only supports the home itself but it also forms the basement walls. When you've got foundation problems, usually, they will show themselves as stair stepping cracks in the outside brickwork, cracks that run the length of the foundation or along basement walls. You may also notice that the windows will not open or close easily or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these issues may not seem serious at first, each of them are indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and it is important to have an expert evaluate the foundation for particular problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be in place.

Thankfully, the most common foundation problems stem from similar issues and our professionals are very good at spotting these problems. We can implement a repair solution intended for your particular issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If the problem is a uneven foundation, we will implement a series of foundation piers to level the foundation. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
