Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rescue

In our area, many of the homes are built with crawl spaces and not basements. For a long time, they were constructed with open vents to the outside where were intended to help fresh air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. Having open vents allows water to enter the space when it rains or snows and the vents prevent proper evaporation which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually foster the growth of mildew. We have found that up to half of the air in your home comes up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the elements and controlling excess humidity will improve the overall air quality in your home.

Our team has been enclosing crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the best way to close them off and control excess humidity. We do this using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are strong plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as vent covers and a sturdy door that will close off the area totally and prevent any excess moisture from entering. This will also prevent critters and animals from settling in your crawl space which will keep any equipment there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After your crawl space is closed off, if necessary we will install a series of floor jacks to repair sagging floors above the crawl space.

Structural Foundation Repair

Stair Step Crack Repair in Rescue

The foundation of your home is quite possibly one of the most important parts. It not only supports the structure itself but it also forms the basement walls. When you've got foundation problems, usually, they will show themselves as stair stepping cracks in your brickwork, horizontal cracks that run along the foundation or along basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that your windows or doors will not open or close easily or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these issues may not seem problematic at first, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for problems and determine what type of a repair needs to be in place.

Thankfully, the most common foundation problems stem from similar issues and our team is very good at spotting those issues. We can implement a repair product intended for your specific problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If you've got a sloping foundation, we will install a series of foundation piers to level the foundation. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both types are very strong and can stabilize your foundation.
