Crawl Space Solutions

Sagging Floors in Rescue

In our area, there are many homes that were built with crawl space areas in addition to basements. For a long time, they were constructed with vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space when it rains or snows and then it never leaves which causes the humidity levels to stay high which can facilitate the growth of mildew. Up to half of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the weather and controlling excess humidity can increase the overall air quality in your home.

Our team has been enclosing crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the best way to close them off and control excess humidity. We do this using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, and are strong plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that can seal the area totally and prevent any excess moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also prevent pests and animals from moving in the crawl space which will help keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After your crawl space is closed off, if necessary we can install a series of sagging floor jacks to level sinking floors above the crawl space.

Structural Foundation Repair

Foundation Settlement Repair Rescue

The foundation of your home is easily one of the most important parts. It not only supports the building itself but it also is the basement walls. When you've got foundation problems, they will generally show themselves in the form of stair stepping cracks in your brickwork, cracks that run the length of the foundation or across the basement walls. You may also notice that your doors or windows will not open or close easily or even cracks at the corners of them. While these problems may not seem serious at first, they are all indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and it is important to have an expert evaluate the foundation for specific problems and determine if a repair needs to be in place.

It is good that many foundation problems are caused by similar things and our experts are very good at noticing these problems. We can utilize a repair product designed for your specific issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If you've got a sinking foundation, we can install a series of foundation piers to stabilize the foundation. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both types are very strong and can help stabilize your foundation.
