Crawl Space Solutions
In Rescue, there are many homes that are built with crawl space areas and not basements. For a long time, these were built with vents to the outside where were intended to help fresh air flow through the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. Having open vents allows water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and then it never leaves which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually harbor the growth of mildew. Up to half of the air in your home enters through the crawl space so having the space closed off from the outside and controlling excess humidity can improve the overall air quality in your home.
We have been helping customers with their crawl spaces since we opened our doors and we know the best way to close them off and control high humidity. We do this using a method known as encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, which are strong plastic and vinyl sheets as well as vent covers and a sturdy door that can seal the area completely and prevent any excess moisture from entering. Closing the area will also prevent pests and animals from getting in the crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once the crawl space is protected, if you need it we can install a system of floor jacks to level sinking floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair
The foundation of your home is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important areas of the home. It not only supports the structure itself but it also creates the basement walls. When you have any foundation problems, normally they will show themselves in the form of diagonal cracks in the brickwork, horizontal cracks that run the length of the foundation or across the basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the windows or doors will not open or close easily or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these issues may not seem serious when you notice them, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for problems and determine what type of a repair needs to be in place.
It is good that many foundation problems are caused by similar things and our experts are very good at evaluating those problems. We can implement a repair solution that is for your exact issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If there is a sinking foundation, we can install a system of foundation piers to level the foundation. The location and amount of sinking will determine if we use helical or push piers. Both types are very strong and are able to stabilize your foundation.
