Crawl Space Solutions
In Rescue, many of the homes are built with crawl space areas in addition to basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, they were created with open vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow through the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and the vents hinder airflow which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually foster the growth of mildew. Studies have shown that up to ½ of the air in your home enters through the crawl space so ensuring the crawl space is closed off from the weather and controlling excess humidity will improve the overall air quality in your home.

We do this using a process called encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are sturdy plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that will close off the area totally and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also stop critters and animals from settling in your crawl space which will keep any equipment there safe and allow you to use it for storage.
