Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Jacks in Rescue

In Rescue, there are many homes that were built with crawl space areas and not basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, they were constructed with vents which was intended to increase air flow through the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. Having open vents allows water to get in during rain and snow storms and then it never leaves which results in the humidity level staying too high which can foster the growth of mildew. We have found that up to 50% of the air in your home has come up through the crawl space so ensuring this area is protected from the outside and keeping the humidity levels low will increase the overall air quality in your home.

Our team has been encapsulating crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the most efficient way to close them off and control excess humidity. We do this using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, and are thick plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that will close off the area completely and prevent any excess moisture from entering. This will also prevent bugs and animals from moving in the crawl space which will keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After your crawl space is closed off, if you need it we will install a series of floor jacks to level sloping floors above the crawl space.

Structural Foundation Repair

Foundation Cracks in Rescue

The homes foundation is easily one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only holds the building itself but it also forms the basement walls. When you have any foundation problems, they will generally show themselves as stair stepping cracks in your outside brickwork, long cracks that run the length of the foundation or across the basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that your windows and doors will not open or close easily or there may be cracks at the corners of them. While these issues may not seem serious at first, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation and they should be evaluated by an expert for problems and determine what type of a repair needs to be performed.

It is good that the most common foundation problems are caused by similar things and our experts are very good at tracking down these issues. We can offer a repair solution intended for your particular problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If you have a uneven foundation, we will implement a series of foundation piers to stabilize the foundation. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both types of piers are very strong and are able to stabilize your foundation.
