Crawl Space Solutions

In Rescue, many of the homes are built with crawl spaces and not basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, these were created with vents which was intended to increase air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. Having open vents allows water to get in during rain and snow storms and then it never leaves which causes the humidity levels to stay high which can harbor the growth of mildew. Studies have shown that up to ½ of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so ensuring the crawl space is protected from the elements and keeping the humidity levels low will improve the overall air quality in your home.

JB Design has been working with crawl spaces as long as we have been in business and we know the proper way to close them off and control excess humidity. This is done using a method called encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as vent covers and a heavy duty door that will seal the area completely and prevent any excess moisture from entering. Closing the area will also prevent critters and animals from getting in your crawl space which will help keep any equipment there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is closed off, if you need it we will install a series of floor jacks to lift sagging floors above the crawl space.

Structural Foundation Repair

The homes foundation is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important parts. It not only holds the home itself but it also forms the basement walls.
