Crawl Space Solutions

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rescue

In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl space areas and not basements. For a long time, they were built with open vents which was intended to increase fresh air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space during rain and snow storms and the vents hinder airflow which results in the humidity level staying too high which will eventually harbor the growth of mildew. Up to half of the air in your home comes up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the weather and keeping the humidity levels low can increase the overall air quality in your home.

Our team has been working with crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the best way to seal them off and control high humidity. This is done using a process called encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are heavy duty plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that can seal the area totally and stop any excess moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop critters and animals from moving in your crawl space which will help keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Once your crawl space is closed off, if necessary we can install a series of floor jacks to level sagging floors above the crawl space.

Structural Foundation Repair

Foundation Settlement Repair Rescue

The foundation of your home is quite possibly one of, if not the, most important areas of the home. It not only supports the structure itself but it also is the basement walls. If you have any foundation problems, they will generally present themselves in the form of diagonal cracks in your brickwork, long cracks that run along the foundation or across the basement walls. You may also notice that your doors and windows will stick when you open or close them or there may be cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these problems seem problematic at first, each of them are indicators of a sinking or settling foundation and it is important to have an expert evaluate the foundation for specific problems to determine what type of a repair needs to be in place.

Thankfully, many foundation problems have very similar causes and our professionals are very good at spotting those problems. We can offer a repair product that is for your specific issue to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation or walls. If you have a sloping foundation, we can implement a series of foundation piers to correct the problem. Depending on how bad it is and where it is, we will use either helical piers or push piers. Both types are very strong and can stabilize your foundation.
