In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces instead of basements. Closing the area will also prevent bugs and animals from moving in your crawl space which will help keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is encapsulated, if necessary we will install a system of floor jacks to repair sloping floors above the crawl space.
