Crawl Space Solutions

In the greater Virginia Beach area, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces and not basements. For many years, these were created with vents which was intended to increase air flow into the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, the opposite is usually what happens. The vents allow water to enter the space when it rains or snows and then it never leaves which causes the humidity levels to stay high which will eventually facilitate the growth of mildew. This is done using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a heavy duty liner, occasionally installed with insulation products, which are strong plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as vent covers and a sturdy door that can seal the area totally and prevent any excess moisture from entering.
