In our area, many of the homes are built with crawl space areas instead of basements. We do this using a process called encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, occasionally installed with insulation products, and are thick plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that will seal the area completely and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop rodents and animals from getting in your crawl space which will keep any items there safe and allow you to use it for storage.
