Crawl Space Solutions

In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl spaces instead of basements. For a long time, they were constructed with open vents which was intended to increase air flow into the space and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. The vents allow water to get in during rain and snow storms and the vents prevent proper evaporation which causes the humidity levels to stay high which can foster the growth of mildew. Studies have shown that up to half of the air in your home has come up through the crawl space so ensuring this area is closed off from the weather and controlling excess humidity will improve the overall air quality in your home.
Our team has been enclosing crawl spaces since 1995 and we know the most efficient way to close them off and control high humidity. This is done using a method called encapsulation which is the installation of a series of vapor barriers, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, and are thick plastic and vinyl sheeting as well as covers to close off existing vents and a heavy duty door that will close off the area completely and prevent any excess moisture from entering. Encapsulation will also prevent bugs and animals from getting in your crawl space which will help keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. After the crawl space is encapsulated, if you need it we will install a system of sagging floor jacks to lift sagging floors above the crawl space.
Structural Foundation Repair

Your foundation is easily one of, if not the, most important areas of the home. It not only holds the building itself but it also forms the basement walls. If there are foundation problems, usually, they will manifest themselves in the form of stair stepping cracks in the brickwork, horizontal cracks that run along the foundation or along basement walls. Sometimes, you will see that the doors will stick when you open or close them or there may be cracks at the corners of them. You may not think these issues seem critical at first, each of them are indicative of a sinking or settling foundation which should be looked at by a professional for specific problems and determine if a repair needs to be installed.
It is good that the most common foundation problems stem from similar issues and our experts are very good at evaluating those problems. We can utilize a repair solution designed for your specific problem to permanently repair and stabilize the foundation. If the problem is a sloping foundation, we will install a system of foundation piers to correct the problem. We will install either push piers or helical piers, depending on where and how bad the sinking is. Both types of piers are very strong and can stabilize your foundation.
