In our area, there are many homes that are built with crawl space areas instead of basements. As long as there have been crawl spaces, these were created with vents to the outside where were intended to help fresh air flow through the area and keep it dry. This will also prevent bugs and animals from settling in your crawl space which will help keep any equipment there safe and allow you to use it for storage.
