Crawl Space Solutions
In our area, many of the homes were built with crawl space areas instead of basements. For many years, they were built with vents to the outside where were intended to help air flow through the area and keep it dry. Unfortunately, this is rarely what happens. Having open vents allows water to get in when it rains or snows and the vents prevent proper evaporation which causes the humidity levels to stay high which can harbor the growth of mildew. Studies have shown that up to ½ of the air in your home can come up through the crawl space so having the space protected from the outside and controlling excess humidity can improve the overall air quality in your home.

We do this using a process known as encapsulation which is the installation of a thick liner or vapor barrier, sometimes accompanied by insulation products, and are thick plastic and vinyl sheets as well as covers to close off existing vents and a sturdy door that can close off the area completely and stop any unwanted moisture from entering. Closing the area will also stop bugs and animals from moving in the crawl space which will help keep any appliances there safe and allow you to use it for storage. Structural Foundation Repair
